Ordered takeout from here last month and when I went inside to pick up my food, I knew I had to come back and dine in. When I visited for dine in, I got the full experience I thought I would have. We were greeted by the very friendly hosts, who we told we were about 30 minutes early to our reservation. We were okay to sit at the bar but the hostess was able to accomodate us and seat us right away. The ambience is very inviting and easy on the eyes and ears as the music was very good. Our waiter Carlos took care of us the entire night, making sure we had time to view the menu, explaining different parts of the menu and giving us suggestions when asked. He checked on us just enough and always had a smile on his face. Brad also made us feel welcomed in our dining experience. The bathrooms we’re clean and gorgeous. Now for the food: Everything I ate was spectacular. It came out nice and hot, main courses were timed perfectly with us finishing our appetizers, and the dessert was delicious as well. I will definitely be returning.
Loved this place! Great food, service, and atmosphere. Our server, Daniel, was excellent! I highly recommend the "chicharrón" (pork belly) as an appetizer. As our main course meals, my wife and I had the seafood rice and the chicken skewers. The food really doesn't dissapoint! Perfect spot for a date night!
The drinks, food, ambience and service were absolutely amazing. There was nothing we could complain about and our waiter, Juan Carlos was extremely attentive and great with the recommendations. Our waters always stayed full, empty plates cleared before we could finish the last bite and the flavors in every bite were unbeatable.
We will definitely be back.
If you are in the area you need to visit. The restaurant is so unique—from the beautiful decor to the flavors in the food, it has something for everybody. The croquettes as appetizers were fantastic and the ceviche trio was very nice as well. I got the grilled squid for mains and it was cooked very well.
My boyfriend and I sat at the bar on Wednesday and it was decently busy but there was no wait. Food, drinks, vibe and service was amazing. Josh was the only one I got a name from the rest of bartenders and staff in general were awesome, we will definitely be coming back ourselves and with friends! For the amount of food and drinks we got it was well worth it:)
This place is unbelievable. I would liken it to a 1 star Michelin experience. You will ABSOLUTELY need reservations if you come here. If you want a weekend reservation, make it weeks in advance. Sometimes you can sit at the bar but there is no guarantee. You are “allotted” a certain amount of time you should expect to stay at your table. For 4 people it was about 2 hours which was reasonable.
The menu is a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese food. It features a lot of seafood products. The dishes are more or less meant to be shared by the table though you can certainly order only for yourself. The portions are not large but I was comfortably full by the end.
The cocktails average $10-$15 and most are made with a special Peruvian brandy called pisco. I opted for the Peruvian Kola and it tasted like the better version of a cream soda. My husband got the smoky melon and really enjoyed it.
We ordered multiple appetizers, rolls, and entrees. Everything we ate was phenomenal, nothing was even sub par. I feel confident recommending literally everything we ate. See my pictures for descriptions.
My favorite was the shrimp croquettes and the chicken and pork fried rice. Can’t comment on dessert because we were far too full by the time that arrived. Our server was incredible, he explained the menu in detail since we were completely unfamiliar and he was never absent. As well the restaurant has multiple helpers so our water was never even halfway empty.
There are these delicious nuts or seeds they serve as a snack, we got 3 refills they were SO good. I gave a 4 on atmosphere because if you are looking for a somewhat quiet date night this is NOT the place. It started off relatively ok with noise and once we hit like 7pm there was thumping music. I was essentially shouting across the table at my friends. The restaurant also is pretty dim, lots of folks were using their phones to walk and read the menu.
We spent about $50/person and it was more than worth the price. I would absolutely come here again and recommend anyone who can afford the price range to come as well!
Easily the best restaurant in Charlotte. Every dish was impeccable. My only regret was that I was so full I couldn't order more. Advance reservations are highly recommended since they do fill up quickly.
Yunta was great! The food was a beautiful blend of Peruvian and Japanese. All the proteins were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The yakitori chicken left us wanting more. The place itself is beautiful and perfect for a date night that will impress. Only reason I couldn’t give that last star was due to the service being rushed. They do specify on the website about time limits and I’m not mad at it, it’s good business but as a patron it’s not a nice experience.
